Favourite Books

I am a lifelong compulsive reader; so much so, that I will read cereal boxes if there is nothing else in my environment to read!  I have read so many enjoyable books over the years, but some have stood out because of the degree to which they have moved me, inspired me, educated me (while “entertaining” me), or engaged me.

In no specific order, these are some of my very favourite books:

  • The Kite Runner, by Khaled Hosseini
  • My name is Asher Lev, and, The Gift of Asher Lev, by Chaim Potok
  • A Prayer for Owen Meany, by John Irving
  • Wanting Mor, by Rukhsana Khan
  • Such a Long Journey, byRohinton Mistry
  • I Heard the Owl Call My Name, by Margaret Craven
  • To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper lee
  • Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom
  • The Alchemist, by Paolo Coelho
  • A Thousand Splendid Suns,  by Khaled Hosseini
  • Night, by Elie Wiesel
  • An Imperfect Offering, by James Orbinski
  • Shake Hands With the Devil, by Romeo Dallaire
  • Two Lives, by Vikram Seth
  • The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant
  • The Gargoyle, by Andrew Davidson
